1 week
This week is still about mommy and the milk. He weighs 12.2 ozs this week. We can definitely say he’s thriving. He will be opening his eyes soon. I will post an update the moment his eyes open.
2 weeks
He is peeking. He should have his eyes open over the next day or 2. He has been dewormed, nails trimmed, and grooming desensitization training has begun. He weighed 1lb 1.3oz
Week 3
He has started drinking water but is not showing interest in food yet. He is starting to play with his siblings. He still spends the majority of his time napping in the puppy pile. He did great with grooming desensitization training and nail trimming. He weighed 1lb 13.5oz
Week 4
He has started eating and drinking water. He is more active, playful, and alert this week. He did excellent with grooming today. He had his sani area, paw pads, and around his eyes clipped. I also clipped his nails and dewormed him. He weighed 2lbs 3oz
Week 5
He is learning to use the potty pads. He’s doing pretty well and is learning fast. He loves playing and interacts with children appropriately. He had his first bath and did excellent with nail trimming and grooming today. He weighed 2lbs 8oz
Week 6
He is using the puppy pads this week. He’s a smart guy who catches onto training quickly. He’s a calm yet playful guy. He was groomed, bathed, nails trimmed, and dewormed this week. He has his appointment for the vet on Oct 3. He will be vaccinated, have an overall health check, and microchip. Be weighed 2lbs 13.9oz
I also start the puppies on crate and pad training once they’ve weaned. Plus, I start a feeding schedule to help with the potty training. You’ll also receive a basic training book and information packets on puppy care. All puppies have a starter bag that include their feeders, food, toys, blankets, and a few other things. I post updates once a week with milestones and pictures, and what will be going on that week.
As for the process, you will need to set a veterinarian appointment for a day within 72 hours of bringing your puppy home. This veterinarian appointment is for a health guarantee. For holding, I require a $300 non-refundable holding fee unless something happens to the puppy while in my care. Before placing a deposit, be sure a puppy is within your budget. the right size, color, and distance for pickup or delivery isn’t an issue.
We’re located in Blacksburg, SC. We deliver up to an hour from our home at no charge. Anything over is $1 per mile. Please check to make sure we’re not too far before placing the holding fee/deposit. Our closest airport is Charlotte Douglas Airport. You’re also welcome to look into other transportation of your choice as long as the puppy will have an adult tending to it the whole way.
